Fumed Silica (SiO2)
Fumed Silica Synonyms:
pyrogenic silica, fumed silica, amorphous fumed silica, amorphous silica, silicon dioxide (amorphous), silicon dioxide-fumed.
Description of the product:
Fumed silica is a fluffy white-blue fine amorphous powder with extremely small particle size, enormous surface area and high purity, without taste and odor.
Silica is highly resistant to most chemical agents. It mixes well with water and with most organic liquids. By adding silica to the liquid it is possible to achieve thickening of the liquid and bring it to a gel-like state. Fumed silica is hygroscopic product; it easily absorbs moisture during storage.
Modified methyl silica of mentioned grades is thermostable organophillic product which has hydrophobic properties. High dispersity and good surface features allow using these hydrophobic products as the thickeners and dullness agents as well as the amplifying fillers in the compositions.
