Defoamers

Pyrogenic silica is used in oil industry as defoaming agent for drilling fluids. It has high defoaming effect at temperatures above 200°C, in aggressive saline medium and at high pressure (operating temperatures of defoamer range from -60° to 300°C), it has low specific consumption ratios.

Pyrogenic silica with its high defoaming effect is used in pulp-paper industry.

In this industry it is recommended to use pyrogenic silica of the grades FUMISIL200 and FUMISILM 170.
